Rough Country Winch Plate For Wrangler (TJ)

RCY1183

Well when you buy a winch you need a way to mount it. And the Rough Country winch mounting plate does the trick. I purchased this online from Jeeperz Creepers in Michigan.

This has mounting holes for the common 10”x4.5” mounting pattern, and worked well with the Champion winch I wanter to install. The fairlead mount also match up great. Over all finish as a Rubicon texture style finish, and had a “X” cut out on the plate. This was a added bonus I highlighted in Yellow to match my Jeep, being it is “ Project X”. I expected this to be a flat plain finish when I ordered it.

Mounting it to the TJ was as easy as changing the tow hooks, although I wanted to use the stock tow hooks and the alignment wasn’t perfect at the bend, but all I needed to do was swap the hooks, no big deal.

The winch plate is also raised to clear the sway bar, Where a flat mounting plate would need to be placed forward of it, this adds a little more protection to it. You can install it over the sway bar cover, but I have grease points for my sway bar and removed the cover. It is also heavily reinforced underneath to keep it from flexing.

If you need a winch plate buy this one, it is built to last and looks good.
